Vis(hi)ta , mysql and all the crap...

I have been trying to setup my dev: env on my high horse riding windows vista and its just not possible to install mysql on the damn OS.. Either it is MySQL's fault that they dont test the installation on a vista machine OR its M$'s fault that they have this bloody access control that prevents one from using his computer. There are some posts on the mysql forms that suggest you to install some shareware to hack the exe .. but I am not willing to do it.. Whatever it is, it is me the end user who has to go thru the entire frustration !

I have tried installing after enabling/disabling UAC, and various combinations.. From what it looks its an issue with MySQL than vista.. I will check with someone who has installed this 'resource hacker' and try installing again..

I checked with a friend of mine who used the hacking approach to get mysql running and found that it is safe to do so , and it works well
